Dr. Susana Abrego founded Britt Road Animal Hospital in 2025. Originally from Coahuila, Mexico, she graduated from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon in 2000 with her veterinary medicine degree and brought her talents to the US in 2008. Her determination fueled her transition from working as a veterinary technician to completing the rigorous process of revalidating her medical credentials in the US, allowing her to practice as a full-fledged veterinarian and realize her dream of opening her own practice.

Dr. Susana is particularly interested in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. Her passion for veterinary medicine stems from her deep love of helping animals and the community – something she says makes her work feel less like a job and more like a calling.

When she’s not caring for her patients, Dr. Susana cherishes time with her furry (and scaly!) family members: Tuza, a Dachshund; Thanos, a pittie; and Henry, an African Sulcata tortoise. Her love for adventure takes her to mountains, rivers, and oceans, and she delights in exploring different cultures and their food and traditions. Dr. Susana has been married for 14 years to her supportive and loving husband.
